Reminder for June STAMPlorations CAS Challenge

Hi crafters! Just a quick note to remind you that you still have two more weeks to play along with the June STAMPlorations CAS challenge. After the end of June the DT will take a few months to recharge over summer and then the challenges will be back again in October. If you want to join us but haven't quite ben inspired to do so yet, there is a lot of additional inspiration for all the STAMPlorations challenges over in the reminder post

My card is a quick and easy card involving stamping with Distress inks in light blue and cream which also happens to be the optional colour twist for the June CAS challenge. I stamped the beautiful bloomdalas from Bloomdala Bliss. I also stamped a sentiment from the same set on a scrap piece of light blue card which I fixed on top of a piece of light blue washi tape.

Note that I have received some of the stamps and other craft supplies for free as a member of the STAMPlorations Design Team, therefore this blog post has to be identified as an ad. I have been using STAMPlorations products for years before joining the Desing Team at which time I paid for all my STAMPlorations products and I love them as much today as I did then.

STAMPlorations Inspiration

Happy Tuesday! Have you had a crafty week so far? If you are looking for inspiration, you should hop over to the STAMPlorations Inspiration post, as we are back again as we are every Tuesday, to share our crafts made with our stash of STAMPlorations goodies. Today. I used one of the gorgeous Watercolour Journaling ATC Cards as the focus on my cards, inking around it in Kitch Flamingo Distress Ink and stamping bloom silhouettes from Beautiful You. The background is die cut with the Wonky Stitched Grid Texture Cover Plate Die and inked around the edges with the same Distress Ink. The sentiment is stamped on a small scrap from my UFO pile which fit into the colour scheme, and the sentiment is from Bloomdala Bliss

STAMPlorations Inspiration

Welcome to the first STAMPlorations Inspiration post for April 2021! Today I'm yet again inspired by spring and flowers (surprise surprise ;). I used the lovely bunch of roses from Bloomfully: Sparkle which I stamped in brown ink across the kraft card panel. I also stamped the same florals on white paper and coloured them with Copics, fussy cut and added to the card front. The sentiment is from the Bloomdala Bliss stamp set and I feel it's very reflective of our current life - things are starting to look up and eventually it will be ok, although I'm sure there are still very tough times ahead. But spring is coming, and then summer and that should mean if nothing else that there will be nice times to be enjoyed in the garden and on the walking paths.

April STAMPlorations CAS Challenge

It's April! Spring is here for real, flowers are in bloom, it's light in the mornings and evenings. Soon it will be my favourite time of the year,  that time when spring turns to summer.  I always feel hopeful at this time of year, particularly right now as the stay at home restriction has been eased slightly and things look like they are going in the right direction here in the UK.

So a new month means it's also time for a new CAS Challenge over at STAMPlorations. This month the optional colour twist is pale pink and navy blue. I was inspired by the colours to create a floral card (maybe I'm inspired by any colours to create a floral card... ;) I started by running a card front through my Sizzix using the Wonky Stitched Grid Texture Cover Plate Die and then splattered some dark blue ink across the card front. I heat embossed the florals from Bloomfully: Sparkle in black, watercoloured with Distress ink and fussy cut, adding them to the card front along with a heat embossed sentiment from Bloomdala Bliss.

ARTplorations New Release

Today I'm excited to have the chance to show you some projects I have created for the release of Helen's new stencils over on the STAMPlorations blog. Helen has created six new super fun stencils. I'm happy to join the other designers in the STAMPlorations Inspirations team to create projects using the new stencils. We are having a blog hop to celebrate Helen's new stencils and hope you will hop along with us. If you leave comments as you hop along, you will be entered in a draw to win some of Helen's new stencils! You have until April 8th to leave comments. You don't have to comment on all blog posts, but the more comments you leave, the more chances you will have to win.

For my first project, I used the Clouds stencil and inked using the edge of the stencil to create a sky in blues, pinks and purples. I stamped the balloons from Tweet Love, coloured them with matching Copics and fussy cut them. The sentiment is die-cut using Everyday Sentiments

For my second card I used the Petals2 stencil for creating a monoprint instead of applying ink through it. I used Distress Ink pads in Mustard Seed, Abandoned Coral and Peacock Feathers directly onto the stencil, misted it with water and pressed against watercolour paper. I die cut the monoprint and another piece of shimmering silver card using Crazy Double Running Stitch Rectangle Nesting Dies. I then added some gorgeous mandala die cuts from Bloomdala Bliss: Felicity using the same grey shimmering card. Last, I heat embossed one of the lovely sentiments from Bloomdala Bliss in white onto black card and added a few clear adhesive gems for that little extra bling.

For my third card, I used the Brick Wall stencil to create my background. I used various shades of red and brown inks to create the brick wall, and splattered water onto the card for extra interest. Then I die cut the panel using Crazy Double Running Stitch Rectangle Nesting Dies. I stamped the beautiful florals from Softly and watercoloured them with Distress Inks. Last, I stamped one of the sentiments from Noteworthy 3 onto vellum.

I hope you enjoyed the projects and are having fun hopping along with our blog hop!

STAMPlorations January CAS Challenge - Metallics

Happy New Year! Can you believe it, a new year and a new decade? I still feel like the millennium wasn't too long ago when in fact it's now 20 years ago! I guess that makes me really old, right? But new decade or not - a new month means it's time for a new CAS challenge. I can't wait to see the 2020 colour twists and to see your interpretations of them. I'm not making any New Year's resolutions, but I would like to try to make a bit more time for crafting this year. I'm extremely excited to share my creations with you and I can't wait to be inspired by the projects you link up. I love seeing the projects and drawing inspiration from them!

Our first colour twist of the year is metallics. I decided to do some gold and silver heat embossing on black card using the Bloomdala Bliss stamp set. I added one of the sentiments from the same stamp set on deep red card for a splash of colour and started the new year, nay, decade, with an uplifting sentiment.

I hope you will join us over on the STAMPlorations blog and play along with our challenge!

STAMPlorations Inspiration

Not long to go now, 10 more days until my Christmas Break starts for real! Are you ready for the Holidays? Who am I kidding, of course, you aren't. And neither am I. But that's ok, it will all be ok. Never let the perfect be the enemy of the good. And everyone will have a lovely time, even if you never got around to baking that seventh batch of cookies or clean out every little corner of the house. So embrace the most important things, whatever those are for you and forget about the rest.

Oh, and it's Tuesday so it's time for another STAMPlorations Inspiration post, yay! I'm having so much fun every week sharing my creations with you. This week I created a Christmas Card using Sanna's lovely Fairytale Forest stencil. I started by masking a part of the card and inked it with light blue Distress Inks. I then inked through the stencil in darer blues. Next, I stamped the mandalas from Bloomdala Bliss in Versamark and heat embossed them in white. Last, I inked a scrap piece of card with the same blue inks and die cut with the new Christmas Sentiments dies.
