Things With Wings Blog Hop and Linky Party

Hi all, and welcome to the STAMPlorations Things With Wings Blog Hop and Linky Party. If you have been following STAMPlorations for a few years you know this is an annual event where we celebrate all things with wings and get a chance to show off our butterflies, birds, dragonflies and more.

I couldn't decide if I wanted to go for a muted colour scheme or a bright rainbow and realised I don't have to choose so I made one of each :) For my white, bright and rainbow coloured card I started with three colours of Distress Ink - Squeezed Lemonade, Speckled Egg and Kitch Flamingo and blended them using foam applicators throught the Senecio 1 Stencil creating a mix of gorgeus colours where the inks blended. I stamped the butterfly from It's a Girl Thing: Kindness, coloured with Copics, fussy cut and attacehd to the card base. Last, I stamped the very apt Think Positive sentiment and little border from the same stamp set, splattering some black ink across the card. I am absolutely stunned by the lovely colours that came out where the inks blended, such a lovely pastel rainbow.

For the muted colour scheme I decided to make a tag, using a few different hues of orange and brown Distress Inks for the stencil work. I die cut the tag base using Stitched Tags Nesting Dies and used the same stamps as for my card, but the colour scheme gave the tag a very different and more natural look compared to the card.

Women's Day Blog Hop

 

Hello lovely crafters, and particularly all you wonderful women! I'm popping in today with a creation for the Women's Day Insta Hop, Blog Hop & Linky Party. I created a card inspired by the blog hop motto "Be your own kind of beautiful". I started by inking Distress ink through the Faces: Lovely stencil, blending as I went along. Then I stamped the sentiments from Woodland Friends and heat embossed them in white on black card. I fussy cut the sentiments and added them to the card. For my thank you card, I started by masking off a rectangle using the Rectangles Flexi-Template and inking Distress Inks through the All Blooms stencil. I added a bit of water and ink splatters because - well, why not. Then I stamped the florals from Bloomfully: Sparkle, coloured with Copics and fussy cut them. Last, I added a sentiment from Everyday Sentiments which I inked with some distress ink.

STAMPlorations Belated Birthday Party Day 5

Happy Friday! I'm so happy it's almost the weekend, although at the same time a bit sad that the amazing STAMPlorations Belated 7th Birthday Celebration is coming to an end. Today I created a winter/Christmas card using Sanna's new Snowflakes Stencil. I inked various blue Distress Inks through the stencil to create the background for my card. Then I stamped the cute little penguins and the igloo from Winter Chill, coloured with Copics and fussy cut them. The sentiment is from the same stamp set, heat embossed in white onto a scrap piece of black card.

For today's card, I started by creating a blended ink background using Distress Oxides and splattered it with water. After it had dried, I ran it through my die cutting machine with the Circles All Over Texture Cover Plate to create a subtle background texture. I then stamped and heat embossed the flowers from Bloomfully: Sparkle in white. Last, I added a sentiment using Skinny Sentiments dies and matted the card front onto black card before attaching everything to a white card base.

Happy Wednesday! Welcome to day three of the STAMPlorations Belated 7th Birthday Celebration. For today's card, I'm trying out the new Flexi Templates - these are a completely new product designed by the amazing Monika Skinner. There are so many fun ways of using these templates, and Monika has already showcased several ways over on the STAMPloraitons blog. I used them to mask off a part of the new Burst Slimline Stencil to create an oval focal point for my card. I masked off my card using the Oval Flexi Template, and placed the Burst Slimline Stencil on top, and inked a rainbow of Distress inks through the stencil and Flexi template. I stamped the crystals from Sparkly, coloured them with Copics and fussy cut them. The sentiment is from the new Bloomfully: Sparkle stamp set. I added three sequins for a bit of bling as I figured you can never go wrong with a bit of bling!

I had so much fun playing with the products from the new release. Today I'm using one of the new Slimline Stencils called Trees. I'm sure you have noticed a lot of slimline cards around the Interwebs lately, it seems to be one of the latest trends. I'm always a bit slow to pick up on the latest crafty fashion, but luckily Shery, the wonderful owner of STAMPlorations, is on top of the trends and making sure we have the best tools and crafting supplies available. Of course, the slimline stencils can be used on non-slimline cards too, but this time I thought I might as well try the new format. I started by inking the background using Distress Inks and then inked brown Distress ink through the Trees Slimline Stencil. I thought the stencilled trees were so beautiful against the ombre background so I didn't want to add anything else to detract from the simple beauty, so I just added a dark brown die cut sentiment using Everyday Sentiments Die.

I heat embossed one of the sentiments from the same stamp set in gold on a yellow scrap piece of card and added it onto a green

STAMPlorations Spring Fling 2020

Today is a special day over on the STAMPlorations blog as we are launching our annual Spring Fling Blog Hop and Linky Party! This year most of my DT colleagues are showcasing our new wonderful Bloomdalascopic stencils and new spring clear stickers. However, I thought we should also show some love to our old crafty stash and today I decided to squeeze some extra value out of my Bloomtangled Cover Plate die. For the background panel, I stamped the florals from Softly in Hickory Smoke.
