STAMPlorations 8th Birthday

Welcome to the STAMPlorations 8th Birthday celebrations! And to celebrate, there are three new Birthday Bundles available in the STAMPlorations store. I created a bunch of projects using the products from Birthday Bundle #2 and Distress Inks.

For my first card, I stamped the florals from Birthday Bundle #2 in Versafine and watercoloured with Distress Inks, letting the colours bleed outside the lines of the image and splattering ink across the panel. Next, I die cut the panel using Crazy Double Running Stitch Rectangle Nesting dies. The sentiment is also from Birthday Bundle #2, stamped in Versafine on vellum.

For my second card I decided to create a colourful rainbow background using the border die from Birthday Bundle #2. I grabbed a rainbow coloured panel I created using Distress Oxides from my UFO box, and cut it multiple times using the die and then die cut the panel using Crazy Double Running Stitch Rectangle Nesting dies. I matted the panel onto black card to make sure the beautiful die-cut stips would show really well.  Next, I grabbed some cupcakes, stamped using Sweet Kindness and coloured with Distress inks. The sentiment was stamped using one of the sentiments from Birthday Bundle #2 onto a piece from a Watercolor ATC Journaling Card

My third project is a tag which I started by inking Distress Ink through the stencil included in Birthday Bundle #2. I die cut the tag using Stitched Tags Nesting Dies, stamped the florals from Birthday Bundle #2 and stamped the sentiment on matching scrap pieces of card.

My fourth card again uses the beautiful florals Birthday Bundle #2 (can you tell how much I love them?!?!) which I stamped in black and watercoloured with Distress Inks. I die cut a strip using the die from the set and stamped the sentiment on vellum.

Don't worry, we are getting to the end now! I used the leftover inked panel from the tag above for one more card - I die cut the panel with the die included in Birthday Bundle #2. I then stamped the florals on one of the gorgeous Watercolor ATC Journaling Card, added a sentiment and finished everything off with a strip of watercolour washi tape.

And that's it for my birthday projects! Don't forget there are prizes for grabs over on the STAMPlorations blog in the 8th Birthday celebrations post including an amazing $75 prize code to the STAMPlorations store.

Note that I have received some of the stamps and other craft supplies for free as a member of the STAMPlorations Design Team, therefore this blog post has to be identified as an ad. I have been using STAMPlorations products for years before joining the Desing Team at which time I paid for all my STAMPlorations products and I love them as much today as I did then.

STAMPlorations Inspiration

Hello crafters! For this week's STAMPlorations Inspiration Post I created a super colourful and quick birthday card. I started by using a Gelli print from my UFO box which I created with Distress Oxides and some bubble wrap. Next, I splattered Distress ink on the card base, and attached the Gelli print and a Watercolour ATC Journaling Card to which I attached one of the Birthday Word Art Clear Stickers. Super quick and easy!

To see all the designer's projects for day 5 of the Birthday Celebrations hop over to the STAMPlorations blog. Today I created a winter/Christmas card using Sanna's new Snowflakes Stencil. I inked various blue Distress Inks through the stencil to create the background for my card. Then I stamped the cute little penguins and the igloo from Winter Chill, coloured with Copics and fussy cut them. The sentiment is from the same stamp set, heat embossed in white onto a scrap piece of black card.

STAMPlorations Belated Birthday Party Day 4

Happy Thursday! Have you been enjoying the STAMPlorations Belated Birthday Week so far? Which are your favourite new products? I'm not sure if I can pick a favourite, but I love the new Bloomfully stamps because a girl can never have too many flower stamps, right? Also, have you played along for a chance to win one of the amazing prizes? Don't forget to take your chance to win a $50 gift code randomly drawn from the STAMPlorations stash link-up. You can find the full details in the Belated 7th Birthday Party Day 4 blog post over on the STAMPlorations blog.

For today's card, I started by creating a blended ink background using Distress Oxides and splattered it with water. After it had dried, I ran it through my die cutting machine with the Circles All Over Texture Cover Plate to create a subtle background texture. I then stamped and heat embossed the flowers from Bloomfully: Sparkle in white. Last, I added a sentiment using Skinny Sentiments dies and matted the card front onto black card before attaching everything to a white card base.

STAMPlorations Belated Birthday Party Day 3

Happy Wednesday! Welcome to day three of the STAMPlorations Belated 7th Birthday Celebration. If you have been following along this week, you already know that we are showcasing new STAMPlorations products and there are lots of prizes up for grabs, you can find more details over on the  STAMPlorations Belated 7th Birthday Celebration blog post.

For today's card, I'm trying out the new Flexi Templates - these are a completely new product designed by the amazing Monika Skinner. There are so many fun ways of using these templates, and Monika has already showcased several ways over on the STAMPloraitons blog. I used them to mask off a part of the new Burst Slimline Stencil to create an oval focal point for my card. I masked off my card using the Oval Flexi Template, and placed the Burst Slimline Stencil on top, and inked a rainbow of Distress inks through the stencil and Flexi template. I stamped the crystals from Sparkly, coloured them with Copics and fussy cut them. The sentiment is from the new Bloomfully: Sparkle stamp set. I added three sequins for a bit of bling as I figured you can never go wrong with a bit of bling!

STAMPlorations Belated Birthday Party Day 2

Hi crafty friends! Thank you for joining me for day two of the STAMPlorations Belated 7th Birthday Party Blog Hop and Linky Party. Did you get inspired by the projects from our day one post? Did you have a chance to play along with the STAMPlorations stash link-up? If not, make sure to check it out for a chance to win an amazing $50 gift code. There are also prizes for commenting on the birthday hop posts (STAMP blog and designers' blogs) and for linking up your own projects to the birthday linky party. You can find the full details in the Belated 7th Birthday Party blog post.

I had so much fun playing with the products from the new release. Today I'm using one of the new Slimline Stencils called Trees. I'm sure you have noticed a lot of slimline cards around the Interwebs lately, it seems to be one of the latest trends. I'm always a bit slow to pick up on the latest crafty fashion, but luckily Shery, the wonderful owner of STAMPlorations, is on top of the trends and making sure we have the best tools and crafting supplies available. Of course, the slimline stencils can be used on non-slimline cards too, but this time I thought I might as well try the new format. I started by inking the background using Distress Inks and then inked brown Distress ink through the Trees Slimline Stencil. I thought the stencilled trees were so beautiful against the ombre background so I didn't want to add anything else to detract from the simple beauty, so I just added a dark brown die cut sentiment using Everyday Sentiments Die.

Note that all products (including the new release products) in the STAMPlorations store are 10% off instantly throughout October. BUT you can get an additional 20% off by using my discount code STAMPGIRLKAROLA at checkout. If you use my discount code you will also receive the Just Plaid square stencil FOR FREE (see image below)!

Welcome to day one of the STAMPlorations Belated 7th Birthday Party. For the next five days, I'm joining the rest of the STAMPlorations design team and we will be showcasing loads of new stamps, stencils and dies. And of course, there are lots of prizes to be won, including an amazing $50 gift code randomly drawn from the STAMPlorations stash link-up. You can find the full details in the Belated 7th Birthday Party blog post.

For my project, I'm showcasing two new projects - the Bloomfully stamps and Wonky Stitched Grid Texture Cover Plate Die. I started by inking up a background using Distress Oxides and splattered water on it. I then ran it through the die cutting machine using the Texture Cover plate to create texture. I stamped the bouquet of flowers from the Bloomfully stamp set, coloured with Copics and fussy cut. Last, I added a sentiment using the Everyday Sentiments Die.

STAMPlorations Inspiration

Happy STAMPlorations Inspiration Post day! Have you been crafting this week? I have to admit I haven't yet but it's only Tuesday so there is still plenty of time!

I'm showing you two super quick birthday cards I created the other week. Sometimes you may find yourself in a situation where you may have inadvertently managed to get very close to someone's birthday and then all of a sudden remember you needed to create them a card. These cards will only take you about 10 minutes or so to create.

Let's start with the card at the top of this post. I started by stamping the Layered Cake Bake cake slice in black and coloured ink, which took about 30 seconds. I then grabbed the  Oh My Stars! Mini Stencil and randomly inked some yellows and oranges with a sponge through the stencil. Next, I stamped the numbers using Sketchy Alphabet onto a scrap piece of paper. Fussy cutting them is what took the longest on this card, several minutes. If you are in a super hurry, you could always stamp directly onto the card rather than faffing around with fussy cutting. I then inked up the flames and stamped them on top of the letters so they look like candles. Last, I splattered some brown ink for added texture to the background, and die cut the sentiment using Everyday Sentiments Dies. Again, glueing the die cuts could be skipped by just quickly stamping a sentiment, or even using one of the fab Clear Stickers, which would take you half a second!

For my second card, I started by stamping the numbers from Sketchy Alphabet all over the card background. I then stamped the yummy cake slice from Sweet Cravings onto some leftover white card, quickly coloured with Copics and fussy cut. The sentiment is super quick to die cut using the fun Skinny Sentiments Dies, again if you really need to save time, stamp a sentiment or use Clear Stickers to take out those extra few minutes, as needed.

I hope you feel inspired to create and don't forget that if you comment on the Inspiration Post you are in a draw to win a monthly $15 gift code to the STAMPlortions store. And, have you seen the big October $50 giveaway in the STAMPlorations store?!? Not to be missed :)

Stencil: ARTplorations Oh My Stars! Mini Stencil

STAMPlorations Inspiration

Happy August, crafty friends! Nature has started to change from the bright summer colours to mature neutrals. The fields around our house are stunning, turning from green to yellow. We are lucky to have so many different walks around the fields here, and we get to admire them as we walk past. This year it's been a such a privilege to be able to just head out for long walks. It seems strange, but I've now been working from home for almost five months and I'm so lucky that we live where we do.

It's also time for the first STAMPlorations Inspiration post for August. This month I will be creating with stencils and the gorgeous Bloom Doodles stamps. Don't forget that if you comment on the Inspiration post you are in the drawing to win $15 gift code.

Today's card was inspired by the beautiful fields around our house. I started by inking browns, reds and yellows through Sanna's gorgeous ARTplorations Barley stencil. Then I stamped flowers and leaves from Bloom Doodles which I coloured with matching Copics and fussy cut. I attached one of the Just Everyday Greetings Clear Stickers to brown card to create a super easy sentiment and attached everything to the card base.

Stamps: STAMPlorations Bloom Doodles
Stencil: ARTplorations Barley
Stickers: CRAFTplorations Just Everyday Greetings Clear Stickers
Ink and colouring: Tim Holtz Distress Inks, Copics, Tsukineko Memento Tuxedo Black

STAMPlorations Inspiration

Happy May, my favourite month of the year! How are you coping? I'm looking forward to a long weekend this week as we have a bank holiday on Friday and I'm taking a day of annual leave on Monday, enjoying four lovely days away from work. I'm planning to... well, stay at home, but not work, hehe. Maybe take a few long walks and work in the garden. It will still feel like a holiday, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed for good weather. And today is Tuesday, and that means there is a new STAMPlorations Inspiration post too.

For today's card, I started with one of my Distress Oxide blended backgrounds. I made a big batch of them a few weeks back. I then stamped the lovely Sweetly bouquet of flowers in white heat embossing on vellum. I die cut the sentiment using Everyday Sentiments. Last I added a strip of patterned paper both for the decorative effect and to secure the edge of the vellum to the background. I'm really chuffed about how this card turned out.

Stamps: STAMPlorations Sweetly
Dies: CUTplorations Everyday Sentiments
Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Oxides, Tsukineko Versamark

We are soon going to start the Spring Fling blog hop and linky party, so don't forget to check in on May 6th.

STAMPlorations Birthday - Birthday Cover Plate Dies

Happy Friday! It's been quite a week, I have had so much fun celebrating six years of STAMPlorations. Happy (slightly belated) birthday STAMPlorations, here's to many more! Congrats to Shery and David for making your business a success. Your products are the best, and I'm glad to see your hard work pay off and wish you all the best for the future. I'm so honoured to be part of your STAMPfamily.

Today it's the last day of new festive product releases and I'm joining fellow design team members over on the STAMPlorations blog to showcase two new Zen Doodles birthday dies. And you still have plenty of time to celebrate with us to win great prizes. You can comment on the blog posts and the designer's blogs, you can link up to the Wishlist Linky Party or share your birthday- or celebration themed creations in the Birthday Linky Party. The linky parties are open until November 5th so you still have a few weeks to play along!
zendoodledcake-preview zendoodledgifts-preview
My first card is a Christmas card I created using Zen Doodled Birthday Gifts Cover Plate die. I die cut the plate three times - once in brown, once in red and once in green. I attached the brown outline onto white card, and paper pieced some of the areas in green, red and brown. I added a sentiment using the new Joy Christmas sentiment stamp set.

For my second card I went, as my dear sister put it, 'a bit psychedelic'. I die cut the plate twice, once in a shimmery grey card and once in a watercolour card. I watercoloured the latter before taking it apart, and paper pieced the whole card into the grey frame. Depending on your personality type, you will either find this completely infuriating or very mediative. I am, as you can guess, of the latter type. I die cut the sentiment using the Celebrate word die in black, attached it to a scrap of vellum and added stickles for that little bit of extra bling.

For my last card, I used a die cut of the plate as a stencil. I inked throuhg it using Distrss Oxides and added a sticker from Birthday Word Art for the sentiment. Last, I added some rainbow washi tape to frame the main image.

That's it, that's the end of the STAMPlorations Sixth Birthday Bash. I feel like it's the morning after the party - the kitchen is full of dirty dishes and various leftovers, and there are a few strange stains on the carpet. It's time to put the dishes in the washer, take out the stain remover and think back of all the fun while clearing out the mess. I need to take a breather for a few days, clear out my craft room and re-set my brain for new projects but there are already lots of fun ideas which are bubbling under the surface.
