The Simple Joys of Christmas

Hope you are all on the home stretch with your Christmas prep and look forward to slow down and enjoy the celebrations. We travelled back home on Friday, and boy was it a crazy flight. We had a really tight layover and only barely made it, flights were running late and of course full to the brim. Luckily we made it, which is better than our bag which is now somewhere out there, who knows where. Luckily I had anticipated this might happen, so we had our toothbrushes and a change of clothes in our hand luggage. Unfortunately all our Christmas presents and the board games we were going to play were in the lost luggage. Not sure if we will get it in time for Christmas or not... I'm quite disappointed that it hasn't shown up yet as it should only be an hour away! But the most important thing is that we made it and get to spend Christmas with family and friends. And that's more than so many who were stuck in London due to issues at Gatwick. I hope they will all make it home for Christmas.
Anyhow, I failed to make quite enough handmade Christmas cards so some friends and neighbours ended up with a store bought card. I’ve decided it’s the thought that counts!  It's been quite a busy end to the year. I made the above card inspired by a smooshing Distress Oxides background which I found in the mess that was my craft desk. I tore the edges a bit, inked them with Distress Ink and stamped some grungy stamps in the background. I then stamped and coloured STAMPlorations Holiday Sketches Christmas Candles which I had taken out to make another card. Last, I added a heat embossed sentiment from Homespun Christmas.

With this card I want to wish you all a Merry Christmas or any other holiday you celebrate this time of year  and thank you for stopping by my little blog. I hope to see you again in the New Year!

I’m linking up with CAS on Friday where the theme is Make a Christmas card, Crimbo Crackers where Anything Goes and ABC Christmas Challenge where the theme is Z is for Zero Embellishments.
